Successful Linux course concludes
This fall, Makerere University in Uganda together with the Linux Users Group of Uganda carried out a Red Hat Linux certification training program targeted at IT professionals and academics. The training was supported by the “EU-ACP Centre for the Development of Enterprise” (CDE) and SPIDER.
Based on a RedHat certification path, the 12-week hands-on intensive training successfully certified the 60 students in attendance. Due to space limitations and the structure of the project, only 50% of the students who applied were selected for the course.
The students were enthusiastic and eager to learn more which left an impression that more advanced training should be provided so as to help foster the adoption of advanced features of Open Source Linux Operating System and other applications within industry and academia in Uganda.
