iMentors. New EC-funded project coordinated by Spider

Spider and DSV at Stockholm University have signed a grant agreement with the EC for the iMentors project. By mapping all e-infrastructures development projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, iMentors will enhance the effectiveness and coherence of national and EU research policies and international cooperation efforts in the field of research infrastructures. iMentors is a project funded by the European Commission’s DG Information Society and Media under the 7th Framework Programme. Total budget: 1.086.879 €. Funding from the EC: 970.000 € Spider is the Coordinator of the project, which is undertaken in partnership with Gov2U.

"This is the first time since its establishment in 2004 that Spider has secured external funding from another source than Sida," notes Paula Uimonen, Director of Spider, while recognizing the invaluable support of Board Member Vasilis Koulolias and the Gov2U team in reaching this milestone.
