We support and participate in regional and global ICT4D research networks. As a network organization, we believe that these networks play a critical role in facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing in ICT4D. They offer platforms for individual researchers around the world to connect with other researchers in their fields of interest, thus strengthening the global ICT4D knowledge base.
The International Network for Postgraduate Students in the area of ICT4D (IPID) is a network of postgraduate students doing research in ICT4D. IPID operates through inter alia support to doctoral as well as master students and increased visibility at international conferences. The network has more than 670 registered members representing over 280 universities/reserach organizations from around 60 countries. IPID is administered by the School of Business (Informatics) at Örebro University and funded by Spider.
The ICT4D Collective was initiated in 2004 and is a group of people committed to undertaking the highest possible quality of research in the field of ICT4D, and making the results of this available freely to the global community. Membership of the Collective implies adherence to its basic principles of membership and partnership. In 2007, the Collective was awarded the Status of a UNESCO Chair in ICT4D. Spider is a member of the ICT4D Collective.
