MiCOpA - Micro Credit Operation Automatisation

Micro credit is a methodology for giving loans to the poor in developing countries, i.e. the majority of whom is deprived of the services of conventional banks. Micro credit organisations are facing many challenges, among which efficiency is a problem. Supporting technology has to emerge to help solve the performance difficulties encountered. The objective of MiCOpA is to investigate the automatisation of the micro credit activity of Grameen Bank and to make recommendations on improvements from the perspectives of process, architecture and technology. The result is a set of guidelines for how to develop new generation software for micro credit operation. As a proof of concept, a prototype, including a PDA solution, will be developed based on the guidelines put forward. MiCOpA is carried out in collaboration with Grameen Bank, one of the world's most successful micro credit organisations.
