Cecilia Strand has a Masters degree in media and communication from Lund University, Sweden and a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Stockholm University Sweden. She is currently enrolled as a PhD candidate at the department of informatics and media at Uppsala University, and plans to complete her PhD in 2011.
Between 2003- 2009, she worked in Africa (Lesotho and Namibia) at UNDP, Afrikagrupperna and the Swedish Embassy in Namibia. Her background is mainly within HIV/AIDS, public health and civil society development. At SPIDER Cecilia is responsible for e-health, transparency and anti-corruption issues. She is also editor of SPIDER's ICT4D series.
